The organizers of Life Is Good No Matter What, an Akron-based cancer charity, held a Seed Party Aug. 1 at Portage Country Club to raise money and spread awareness of their fledgling organization.
This group was founded in 2012 by Akron resident Troy Haslinger, in honor of his sister Holly Haslinger Sneider who died of colon cancer in 2011. Life Is Good No Matter What grants wishes/cherished experiences to terminally ill adults with advanced cancer.
“Founding the charity was my way of continuing my sister’s legacy,” Haslinger says. “Her motto throughout her 18-month battle with cancer was that life is good, no matter what. Getting the backing of the Akron community is invaluable because it allows us to spread the word about our mission and to widen our base of support to continue creating cherished experiences for adults battling advanced cancer.”
