Akron Life Magazine is currently seeking dedicated interns to assist with both our advertising/marketing campaigns and AkronLife.com. We are looking for energetic, detail-oriented individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in digital publishing, marketing and audience engagement.
This internship offers the opportunity to work closely with editors, designers and the marketing department on a variety of projects spanning social media, email marketing, website content, analytics and digital advertising.
This is an unpaid, part-time internship. Scheduling and hours are flexible.
What You’ll Do
Depending on your strengths (social media, analytics, content creation or a mix), responsibilities may include:

Creating and scheduling social media content across platforms

Writing engaging captions and promotional copy

Updating and optimizing website content on AkronLife.com

Monitoring and reporting on website and social media analytics
-
Supporting digital advertising campaigns
-
Conducting audience and competitor research
-
Assisting with SEO strategic implementation and keyword research
-
Capturing behind-the-scenes content at photoshoots and local events
-
Collaborating with the editorial and creative teams to promote monthly features and special sections
Interns will work under deadlines and collaborate closely with editors, designers and the marketing team on both routine and strategic digital initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate:

Is a college student (preferably entering junior or senior year) or recent graduate pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, digital media or a related field

Has experience managing or creating content for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)

Has a basic understanding of digital analytics (Google Analytics, social insights, etc.)

Has strong writing and editing skills
-
Is comfortable working on MacOS and Microsoft Office applications

Has strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Works well in a deadline-driven environment

Responds professionally to feedback

Follows instructions carefully while confidently contributing ideas

Functions well in a highly collaborative environment

Has reliable transportation, as local travel within The 330 may be required
