Goodwill’s 10th Annual Taste of Vintage gala, held at the Quaker Station on November 5, 2015, was attended by more than 500 guests and honored the philanthropic efforts of James and Julie Merklin in the greater Akron community.
Guests enjoyed a showcase of fashions from the 1940s to 1990s from Goodwill’s vast Vintage Collection, as well as silent and live auctions and food tastings offered by a variety of restaurants and specialty businesses, including Nuevo Modern Mexican & Tequila Bar, Aladdin’s Eatery, Saffron Patch and West Side Bakery, to name a few.
Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties along with honorary event chairs George and Beth Sherwood, raised nearly $90,000 at the 2015 event. All proceeds from The Taste of Vintage support Goodwill’s mission to help individuals prepare for, find and retain employment in our community.
