Performer, composer, arranger and educator, Bobby Selvaggio is one of the leading alto saxophone voices on today's jazz scene. A native of Cleveland, he is Director of the Jazz Studies program at Kent State University. A graduate of Kent and Manhattan School of Music, Bobby spent four years in New York gigging around town in places like the Vanguard and Birdland. He returned to his hometown and is dedicated to keeping jazz alive in Cleveland.
As Music from The Western Reserve continues their diverse 35th season, Bobby Selvaggio Jazz Quartet is next on the program. The quartet consists of local area jazz musicians Theron Brown, Jordan McBride, and Zaire Darden. The fifth concert of the 2017-2018 season will continue on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Christ Church Episcopal 21 Aurora St., Hudson. Meet-the-artist reception to follow.
