“For Your Eyes Only” at AGMC Women’s Board Gala

The Akron General Medical Center’s Women’s Board transformed Portage Country Club into a James Bond-style movie set with a dinner and live auction for the organization’s annual Gala. Four-hundred people attended the event, which was expected to raise more than $100,000 for the new Neuroscience Institute at AGMC.

The evening began with specialty martinis and hors d’oeuvres. Dinner was served followed by a live auction with auctioneer Dick Kiko. Entertainment and a casino night with donated prizes wrapped up the evening’s festivities.

The Women’s Board honored the memory and accomplishments of Dr. Kamel Muakkassa. Rola Muakkassa spoke to guests about her late husband’s dream of the Neuroscience Institute and his work to make it a reality. Akron General Health System CEO Dr. Tim Stover also spoke at the event.
