Job Fair at Akron's Haunted Schoolhouse & Laboratory

The legendary Haunted Schoolhouse and Haunted Laboratory at 1300 Triplett Blvd. in Akron are actively looking to hire dozens of workers who want the thrill of bringing screams to the autumn air during the 2012 Halloween season.

Anybody who believes they have what it takes to join their Scream Team as a monster, actor or makeup artist is asked to attend the monstrous job fair on Sunday, September 16 at 1 p.m. All applicants must be at least 16 years old and all jobs are paid positions.

In light of the ongoing economic slump, we've seen a change in the types of people applying for work at the haunted houses in recent years. While the organization tends to skew younger, we're now seeing people of all ages -- many recently laid off -- looking for a job.

Each of the attractions, which are two of the longest-running in the country, have become Akron traditions -- the 2012 haunted house season marks the 39th year for The Haunted Schoolhouse and the 32nd year for The Haunted Laboratory.

Their haunted attractions have been ranked among the best in the nation by AOL Digital City, Fangoria Magazine, HauntWorld Magazine, OhioValleyHaunts.com and CityBlood.com.

The Schoolhouse features three floors of fright inside a former elementary school where guests come face-to-face with droves of creatures and classic monsters. The Haunted Laboratory, which sits right next door to the Schoolhouse, takes its guests through four floors of terror where experiments have gone awry.

This year, the screams return when The Haunted Schoolhouse and The Haunted Laboratory open for the 2012 season on Friday, September 28 at 7:30 p.m.
