Neos Dance Theatre to present Creole Cinderella

The Akron Civic Theatre will present Neos Dance Theatre’s Creole Cinderella. The show will begin at 7:30 PM on Thursday, February 28, 2013.

The Creole Cinderella, an original production featuring Neos Dance Theatre.  This outrageous, silly and often touching retelling of the classic tale is a delight for the entire family.  Choreographed by the Neos Dance Theatre’s resident choreographer Mary Elizabeth Fenn, this delightful ballet features the entire company, including Fenn, Artistic Director, Robert Wesner, Brooke Wesner, Akron Natives Jennifer Moll Safonovs, Katie Edmonds and Juliana Freude, The University of Akron graduate Erin Buck, and Anna Trumbo.  Jens Lee Peterson will be appearing as a guest artist playing the role of Step Mother.

Though it follows the original storyline, The Creole Cinderella is set in pre-WW I New Orleans.  It combines all the fun and frivolity of Mardi Gras with such classic tunes as “Alexander’s Ragtime Band”, “Basin Street Blues” and “When the Saints Go Marching In.”

Ticket prices are $25. This performance is cabaret style on the stage of the Akron Civic Theatre, therefore seating is limited.
