Spirit of Art is in Canton for March's First Friday

If the spirit moves you to dance, sing, giggle, wonder, and rejoice, the March 1 First Friday is heaven sent to you.

Themed “Spirit of Art,” the evening might just be the divine intervention you’re seeking this time of year, when winter blues need a ray of sunshine.  Make colorful Hippie Peace Pets at Creative Ohio, check out the grand reopening of The Color Shoppe with their sale on angel art, and enjoy the spirit of ballroom dancing with a demo by Andrew Fulmer Dance Studio.

The dancers will be at the Joseph Saxton Gallery of Photography preceding the Tiqvah Hands of Hope children’s’ choir (7 p.m.) and Kory Miles and Resurrected Praise, singing gospel, at 8 p.m.  Get inspired by Saxton’s Synergaze Project, then walk up the block, to continue your out of this world experience as Parallax Theatre performs their 3rd episode of Maxwell Science: Space Captain.

Tune into The Dreg Spot’s debut of “Two Guys Talking about Art,” then travel downstairs at Second April where the work of Ted Lawson is featured, along with the exhibit “Liberal Spirit,” from political painter G. Gallagher.  Then move to the right to visit the “Spirit of the Titanic” and underwater journey, created by Douglas Charles, and on display at The Canton Club.  Other featured art includes SUESS-TALATION at Translations, a Buy 2/Get 2 print sale at Thirteenth Floor, glass blowing by John Boyett, new hand-carved creations by Dave King and a free to the first 48 poster giveaway at The Hub.

If you still need some healing, get an adrenaline rush with Buzzbin Magazine’s music showcase, the line-up at George’s Lounge, live jazz at Tozzi’s or the melodic vibes of Ginger Ackley at MOLA.
