Two Local Breweries Win Big At Craft Brewers Conference

by

With the International Beer Fest less than a week away, today comes word that two northeast Ohio brewing companies have scored big at San Diego's Craft Brewers Conference or more commonly known in the beer community as simply CBC.

Akron's own Hoppin' Frog took home the gold medal for their Barrel Aged B.O.R.I.S. Oatmeal Imperial Stout at the 2012 World Beer Cup while Fat Head's of North Olmsted won two silver medals for Battle Axe Baltic Porter and their flagship Headhunter IPA.

The Craft Brewers Conference (CBC) is the only industry event that serves both brewpubs and packaging breweries. For professional brewers, CBC is the number one environment in North America for concentrated, affordable brewing education and idea sharing to improve brewery quality and performance. The conference is also a great social event with over 2,600 brewing industry professionals enjoying craft brews together.

Both breweries will be on hand at festivities this coming weekend for Cleveland's International Beer Fest at the I-X Center. Those in attendance will get a chance to sample over 800 beers from 200 breweries. Last year's festival was a blast so make sure you do what you can to make it out to at least one of the three sessions happening on May 11 and May 12.

All of us here at akronlife would also like to congratulate both Hoppin' Frog and Fat Head's for all the hard work they have done to creating such awesome beers.
