Akron Cattle Baron’s Ball

The American Cancer Society hosted the 7th annual Akron Cattle Baron’s Ball, Oct. 13 at Quaker Station. More than 300 guests attended this year’s event that raised over $100,000 for the American Cancer Society, bringing the seven-year total to close to $1 million.

The “Jeans and Jewels”-themed event was old-school, high-end fun, and featured gourmet fare, casino-style gaming, dancing, live music by Ding Town and a live and silent auction. The evening’s festivities were emceed by WQMX on-air talent Lynn Kelly.

Jane Spelich of Richfield chaired the event. Tamara Boyazis and Sherri Brown of Bath, and June Netzley and Bill Willis of West Akron received the Community Impact Award for their outstanding contributions to the fight against cancer. The Cattle Baron’s Ball supports the American Cancer Society mission to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
