Akron Preview Party

THE HOME FOR STORIES.  The 38th Cleveland International Film Festival and 89.7 WKSU will hold their annual Akron Preview Reception on Thursday, March 6th from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Akron Civic Theatre in downtown Akron. This free event will feature complimentary hors d’oeuvres and dessert, a brief program, the screening of select short subject films, the presentation of the 38th CIFF trailer reel, as well as free Program Guides. 

Please RSVP at www.wksu.org/events.  You are not required to print a voucher and the event is free and open to the general public.

The Akron Civic Theatre is located at 182 S. Main St. with plenty of city parking nearby, which is free after 6 p.m.

Ticket prices for films are $12 per film for CIFF members and $14 for non-members.  Tickets will be available online at clevelandfilm.org, by telephone (1.877.304.FILM), in-person at the Film Festival Box Office in the lobby of Tower City Cinemas, or by mail using the Program Guide order form. 

Program Guides will be available throughout the region, including all Dollar Bank locations, the week of March 3rd.

DAY AND KNIGHT IN AKRON

On Thursday, March 27th, the 38th CIFF will present its second annual Day and Knight in Akron, presented with generous support from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, with additional support from the Akron Community Foundation and the GAR Foundation. 

The Day and KNIGHT in Akron will offer a full day of programming, including eight screenings taking place at the Akron Art Museum and the Akron-Summit County Public Library.  The line-up will showcase five feature films and two Ohio Shorts programs.
