Dr. Gerald Sisko, an Akron native and graduate of The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, has been practicing general dentistry for over 35 years. Dr. Sisko welcomed a new associate, Dr. Justin Kosar, to his Sisko Dentistry team in Tallmadge. Dr. Kosar is a Case Western Reserve University graduate and has been a Sisko Dentistry patient since he was 6 years old.

Sisko Dentistry team members have a mission to provide exceptional preventative dental care to their patients in a comfortable, friendly setting, which is critical in patients’ overall wellness. Through continuing education and training, Sisko Dentistry offers several innovative services including Invisalign, comprehensive smile designs and OralDNA. The goal of Dr. Sisko and his team members is to deliver the highest quality cosmetic and implant restorative dentistry utilizing the latest technology. They understand patients’ financial concerns as well. Business team members work to maximize benefits for patients with insurance and offer an in-house membership plan for those without insurance.

Providing dental care to generations of families and being an active part of the community has been both an honor and a blessing. Sisko Dentistry team members enjoy educating school health classes on the importance of dental health, as well as providing necessary dental treatment to the less fortunate through the Faithful Servants program. “I was born and raised here,” says Dr. Sisko. “Being able to give back to this community is very important.”

The Faces of Construction

In 1948, Nickitas “Nick” Thomarios started a small painting company to serve Greater Akron residents. His business grew into the commercial fields and incorporated in 1969. Since the construction group was added in 1994, the development, growth and diversity of projects have taken the company to a new level.

Nick taught his son, Paul, to paint houses  alongside him at an early age. After graduating from The University of Akron, Paul grew the business by adhering to the key components of quality and integrity his father instilled in him.

Under Paul’s leadership, the Thomarios team has grown into an international powerhouse of construction, coatings, powder coatings and historic restoration. From the Saturn V rocket to the LED-lit parking garage at Akron Children’s Hospital, Paul helps build his father’s vision of making Akron a great place to live, one project at a time.

Thomarios recently renovated office space for Babcock & Wilcox in the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. headquarters in Akron. The renovations utilized existing space to house approximately 650 employees and create new office and common spaces that help them work efficiently.
