Dogfish Head Romantic Chemistry

This year, Dogfish Head decided to make an abundance of calculated changes introducing a handful of new beers that have never been done before, while at the same time, saying goodbye to some beloved favorites. As we say “au revoir” to previous spring seasonal Aprihop, say hello to Romantic Chemistry.

Brewed with mangos, apricots and ginger, and then dry-hopped with three distinct hops varieties, Romantic Chemistry delivers a punch of tropical fruit on the nose and an effective hop-forwardness on the backend, resulting in a thoroughly satisfying beer to savor. Coming in at 7.2 percent alcohol by volume and an incredibly balanced 40 on the international bitterness unit, Romantic Chemistry is just the ticket for those looking to celebrate spring early. 

Originally opened in the summer of 1995, Dogfish Head was not only the first brewery in Delaware but also the smallest commercial brewery in the country. Settled near the water of Delaware’s scenic Rehoboth Beach, Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats gave founder Sam Calagione a chance to brew beer for a living in the place he called home. 

As their popularity grew, however, Calagione realized that his 12-gallon brewing system was no match for the amount of beer the masses were asking for and decided to open the official brewery in Milton, less than 30 minutes away. While the beer, which is now distributed in over 30 states, is brewed and bottled at the Milton brewery, the original Rehoboth Beach location still serves as the testing ground for small batch brews looking to one day make their way to the bottle. 

Romantic Chemistry is available in four packs ($8.99) at select Acme, Fishers Foods and Giant Eagle locations, as well as your finer craft beer stops such as Mustard Seed, World Market, Lizardville and 101 Bottles of Beer on the Wall.
