The Wine Opener is a national wine tasting series to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Held in more than 35 cities, from San Diego to Miami, The Wine Opener will reach an audience of thousands nationwide. Locally, the Akron Wine Opener will be held in March 1, 2013 at the Akron Civic Theatre (new location!). The Akron Wine Opener will be a relaxed, yet lively, evening for more than 450 expected guests.

From wine novices to advanced wine enthusiasts, The Wine Opener is a casual and fun evening for all experience levels! SIP GREAT WINES poured by international and domestic wineries sponsored by 750ml Wines. SAVOR GREAT CUISINE presented at festive tasting stations, where the area's hottest chefs prepare their specialties just for you. Along with delicious food and wine pairings, guests will be treated to lively and diverse auctions and entertainment.

For a $65 ticket ($45 tax deductible), guests receive entrance into the event, all wine and food tastings, a keepsake tasting glass and a tasting journal (the event program). $110 VIP ticket ($70 tax deductible) holders receive all of the above plus a unique gift item and a special pre-event wine tasting, lead by the wine supplier, featuring special wines not available for tasting at the main event.

2013 participating restaurants to date include: D’Agnese’s Trattoria and Café, Desert Inn, Earth Fare, Eclectic Edibles, Good to Go in Stow, Hudson’s Restaurant, Main Street Gourmet, Max & Erma’s, Old Carolina Barbeque Company, Pure DeLite Cupcakes, SantoSuossos, Sushi on the Roll, Tastefully Simple, The Lockview, among others.
