The second annual Akron Art Prize, sponsored by the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation, kicks off on September 7 in conjunction with Downtown Akron Artwalk. More than 100 artists will compete for $10,000 in cash prizes with the public casting up to 10 votes via text messages and tablet kiosks in participating venues through October 5.
Downtown Akron Partnership (DAP) is accepting entry applications through Friday, July 5. The competition is open to solo and collaborative artists, two-or three-dimensional pieces, and time based entries. Artists must be at least 18 years of age and pay a $25 entry fee to participate.
The announcement of winners and finale celebration takes in the grand lobby of the Akron Art Museum on Saturday, October 5.
