Lyceum: Dave and Amy Freeman, Adventurers of the Year

Fostering fresh perspectives and lasting connections, Cuyahoga Valley Institute's Lyceum series presents in-depth and engaging content from experts in history, adventure, and the natural world.

National Geographic 2014 Adventurers of the Year Amy and Dave Freeman paddled, dogsledded, and hiked 11,647 miles across North America while 85,000 students helped shape their course. The Freemans established the online Wilderness Classroom in the hopes of using wilderness and adventure as an educational tool, they use this model to engage students in their expeditions and give kids a digital window into the their wilderness journeys.
