Monotype Workshop
to
Rubber City Prints 140 East Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44308
This is a one day workshop. We start with demonstrations of ways to create line, texture and colors for printing in relief. A monotype is a unique print. The participant will work on an 8" x 10" plexi-glass and apply ink many different ways including: painting, rolling, stenciling, or offsetting ink onto the plate. The artist may also use subtractive methods to remove ink. An etching press is used to transfer the image to paper. We invite participants to make a “class” print where all participants add something to create a final image. The class starts at 10am, break for lunch (packed by participants) and work until 4:00, with a quick critique at the end of class.
