Neil Zaza CD Release Concert

Neil Zaza, One of the most acclaimed and unique guitar players in the world, will celebrate the release of his highly anticipated new CD “212” with a very special and intimate concert at the Kent Stage on April 15th, 2011.

This special concert provides a rare opportunity for Northeastern Ohio fans to experience one of the world’s innovators in melodic instrumental rock. With the release of “212,” Neil has decided to kick off the release of his CD, where his career began, Northeastern Ohio. Neil’s busy travel and touring schedule has him performing regularly in China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, The Netherlands, Poland and Italy among others.

Despite requests from around the globe, Neil chose Northeastern Ohio as the location for his release concert to thank his hometown fans for the support they have shown him over the past two decades.

Over the past two decades Neil’s guitar playing has defined modern day instrumental guitar the world over. His melodic compositions have not only changed the way musicians play, but what audiences demand out of their guitar heroes. With fiery technical brilliance and breathtaking musical interpretation, Neil Zaza has defined himself as the instrumental guitarist with an unparalleled ability to combine solid, catchy songwriting with a keen melodic sense and technical fury. From his virtuoso rock solos, to laying a funk groove, to demonstrating his classical prowess by performing Bach and Mozart compositions, Zaza’s extreme versatility has been showcased worldwide in concerts, clinics, festivals, as well as on his own solo instrumental albums.

"It's always been about the song for me," states Neil. "I remember all the tunes that really moved me when I was growing up and it wasn't about the guitarist playing 128th notes. It was about an inexplicable connection I felt drawing me to wear out my records as I couldn't get enough of that rush of the song itself! That's what I try and do with my music today. It's always about the song!"

Neil has played alongside and shared the stage with such guitar luminaries as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Nuno Bettencourt. His recordings feature collaborations with Van Halen’s Michael Anthony, Dream Theater’s Jordan Rudess, drumming legend Steve Smith, Peter Frampton among others.

Now, with his latest release entitled 212, Neil has set the melodic bar even higher with a project taking his melodic stylings to even greater heights. 212 boasts songs that put composition and melody on par with his stunning guitar prowess.
